Mishti Doi is one of my favorite Bengali sweets. This is famous all over India. Sometimes we all feel that it is easier to buy sweets than to make them at home. But this misti doi recipe is a straightforward, easy, and tasty one and that can be made easily at home. It's only a four ingredients dessert that can be baked in an hour if the ingredients are ready. You can make this for special occasions or for everyday dessert.
This rose-flavored sweetened yogurt is made with a few tablespoons of rose syrup for the beautiful pink color and the rose flavor. Mishti Doi is traditionally set in earthen pots as setting it in an earthen pot makes the yogurt nice and thick as the pot absorbs all the excess water of the yogurt. I set it in earthen pots too.
1 cup Condensed Milk
1 cup Evaporated Milk
1 cup Plain Yogurt
1/4 cup Rose Syrup
Dried Rose Petals for garnish
In a mixing bowl, take evaporated milk and condensed milk and mix together.
Beat the plain yogurt in a separate bowl and mix it with the evaporated milk and condensed milk mixture.
Add rose syrup and mix well.
Make mixture frothy by whisking vigorously.
Then pour the mixture into the desired baking bowl from height to create froth on the top.
Then bake it in the preheated 250-degree oven for 1 hour or the center is set.
Let it come to the room tempatarutre, then garnish it with dried edible rose petals.
Enjoy the creamy yummy rose-flavored sweetened yogurt or rose misti doi.
