After visiting Egypt, I started liking hummus. But my husband loves it. He actually loves everything that is made with garbanzo beans :). So I wanted to make him happy.:) I tried the basic hummus recipe a long time ago, but it was not up to our taste. So change it to according to our taste and at the same time made it healthier by adding beetroots in it. Beetroots are full of nutrients and at the same time, they give vibrant color too.
Ingredients:
450gram (One 15 ounces can ) of garbanzo beans (drained and washed thoroughly)
150-gram Beetroot (boiled)
3 tablespoons lime juice
1/4 cup toasted slivered almond (ground)
2 tablespoon of sesame seeds (paste)
4 large garlic cloves
2 tablespoon of olive oil
1 roasted bell paper
1 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon crushed black pepper
2 Thai green chillis
1/4 cup of chopped parsley
Methods:
In a food processor, take everything and make a smooth paste.
Check the seasoning, add more salt and paper if it's needed.
Pour in a serving bowl and garnish with parsley and chopped toasted slivered almonds and olive oil.
Enjoy the beetroot hummus with toasted pita bread or pita chips!
