Tandoori Spiced Spicy Goat Meatloaf!

Updated: Sep 22, 2021

Meatloaf is loaf-shaped cooked ground meat. However, every slice looks like a burger or pound cake, but the texture and the taste are way different and amazing. Also, I am not following the usual recipe here and using some Indian spices to make it spicy and tasty for our taste buds. My husband actually created this recipe :), and I loved the taste and was following it thereafter. This is a super moist meatloaf recipe!

Also, usually, meatloaf is coated and grazed with ketchup, but I like to add the glaze, which adds an extra zing to the meatloaf both in looks and flavor. So I made my own glaze with red wine, hot sauce, and honey. It also helps to hide the cracked surface of the meatloaf!

Prep Time: 15 mins

Cooking Time: 75 Mins

Serving: 8 slices

Ingredients:

2 pounds ground goat meat (try to take lean meat like a leg or breast meat)

1 cup chopped red onion

1 teaspoon chopped fresh cilantro

4 large slices of fresh bread ( Put them in a food processor and make fresh bread crumbs)

2 green chilies chopped

4 teaspoons tandoori spice( store-bought -box)

1 teaspoon ginger paste

1 teaspoon garlic paste

2 extra-large eggs

1 teaspoon salt

1 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper

For Glaze:

2 tablespoons tomato hot and sweet sauce

2 teaspoons honey

2 teaspoons red wine vinegar

Methods:

  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.

  • In a large bowl, combine the ground goat meat, chopped onion, chopped cilantro leaves, salt, pepper, ginger paste, garlic paste, fresh bread crumbs, eggs, chopped chilies, tandoori spice, and mix everything lightly with a fork or hand. Don't mash too much, and then the meatloaf will be dense.

  • Shape the mixture into a rectangular loaf and put it on a greased bread pan.

  • Mix all the glaze ingredients( the tomato hot and sweet sauce, honey, red wine vinegar)

  • Evenly spread the glaze on top.

  • Bake for 60 to 90 mins or until the internal temperature is 160 degrees F and the meatloaf is cooked through.

  • Serve hot and spicy yummy goat meatloaf!
