I ’m not usually a wine lover, but I absolutely love this mulled wine. The orange juice and warm, aromatic spices blend beautifully with the wine and cognac. It’s the perfect drink for the holiday season. On a cold day, a glass of this warm mulled wine is pure comfort. I felt so good sipping it when I had a cold last week. It even reminded me of karha — a traditional herbal and spiced drink often used as a home remedy for colds.

Prep Time: 10 mins
Cooking Time: 10 Mins
Serving: 4

Ingredients:
1 bottle of red wine (750 ml)
1/4 cup Grand Marnier (orange liqueur )
1/8 cup of orange juice
4 oz maple syrup
1 round sliced orange
8 cloves
2 cinnamon sticks
2-3 star Anise
15 peppercorns
A few more Orange slices, Cinamon stick, and star anise for garnish.
Methods:
In a large pan, add the wine, orange juice, Grand Marnier, maple syrup, orange slices, cloves, cinnamon, star anise, and peppercorns.
Mix everything gently.
Cook on low heat for 10 minutes.

Keep the mixture below the boiling point (Do not let it boil, or the alcohol will cook off).
Strain the liquid using a sieve and pour it into a large pitcher.
Serve in small glasses and garnish with a cinnamon stick, an orange slice, and a star anise.
